I've made several interstate moves with various moving companies ranging from excellent to total disaster, but my experience with Ship Smart was the best moving experience I've ever had. The movers themselves, on both ends of the move, were the best - at their jobs and as human beings. They were highly skilled, fast, efficient, caring and kind. And the reps with whom I communicated while setting up the move were courteous, knowledgeable, professional, always available by phone and by email, and responsive to all my concerns. packers did an excellent job and proof was that nothing was broken in the 1000+ Fiesta dinnerware. Problem was at receiving end. The local company twice brought out the wrong shipment. This caused my daughter to take time off from work to be home. The delivery was ahead of schedule and not a single item was damaged. The packing was science to me. The way things were arranged and stacked was pretty ingenious. The delivery was like the pickup: professional and courteous. Along the way, I was kept informed of every step. I don't often give an unqualified five stars, but this is it. Our stuff got to us, but delivery was a little rocky. No clear from the beginning is that your stuff is left on pallets and you have to break it down and move the stuff yourself, plus dispose of the pallets. Packing was good and efficient, but tracking delivery was not perfect. Ship Smart uses independent hauling and warehousing at the delivery end(I think), so tracking delivery is tricky. An OK experience, but I think it comes down to better communication so the customer knows what to expect. As a footnote, because our delivery was delayed a day the ShipSmart manager reimbursed us for an extra nite hotel stay! things went well except when it came to communication the was a lack thereof. Was told things were to be delivered between 10am and 2pm. I had people who took time out of their day and cancelled appointments to insure someone was home to receive. nobody communicated to me there were delays and nothing showed up till 4pm. Ship Smart recently packed up some small items for us for a move to a 2nd residence. Sean Jackson and his helper on this end were just the greatest! They handled everything with the upmost of care. On the receiving end, Alex and his helper were the same...very careful with our items, unpacked several of them and took away the packing. Everything had been well wrapped and not a single item was damaged in any way. The only small concern we had was with our estimate, we had to change a few things and thus did not know the amount until just before delivery which did end up being more than our anticipation, but worth the extra cost. We also did not know that even though our shipment had arrived in the new area, it was another week before delivery. This would have been helpful to know in advance. They packed the fragile glass pieces on site. I watched and knew they would arrive in perfect condition. My only issue is it was a bit than the quote in the end. I added a couple small things which should not have affected that much. I will use them again with the understanding until they get my things and weigh them the estimate is a gestimate.
