The I-15 Run From the Basin to the Valley
Freight leaving Los Angeles picks up I-15 by way of I-10 or I-210, then climbs Cajon Pass between the San Gabriel and San Bernardino Mountains. Past the summit the road crosses the high desert and the open Mojave for most of the trip, then drops into the Las Vegas Valley. LTL loads move terminal to terminal, so the exact path a given trailer takes can vary.

Driving up yourself? Pick the day with care. Northbound I-15 tends to crawl on Friday afternoons, and southbound traffic stacks up near the state line on Sunday afternoons, so a midweek trip is usually the easy one.
