Guide: Packing Up Your Bathroom
After packing your bedroom and kitchen, it is now time to pack up your bathroom. This might seem like a simple task. After all, a bathroom is not that big and the items are smaller and fewer, right? Well, you will be surprised to find a lot of items that you didn't even realize existed. You can either DIY or hire a small moving company like Ship Smart to help you out.
Some of the stuff is useful while others are just empty shampoo and soap bottles. We use the bathroom several times a day and it can be more difficult to pack then you think. This guide will help pack up your bathroom in a breeze.
How to sort the bathroom items.
Pack Essentials
Pack a small bag with a few essentials first and keep them with you. This includes toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, and a hair brush. The last thing you want to do when unpacking is trying to figure out the location of your essential toiletries.
Throw away empty bottles.
Decide what you need to move and what should be discarded. Check the cabinets, shelves, medicine chests, and drawers for any bottles, deodorant, cosmetics, etc. Set aside a box to throw in stuff that you no longer need, or empty bottles and tubes.
Expired Products
Check the expiry dates on medicine bottles and other products before you pack them. If you cannot find the expiry date because the label cannot be read, get rid of it.
Items to be trashed.
Worn out towels, curtains, and bathrobes can be used to clean the house. Pieces of soap and that old makeup you don't use any more should be thrown in the trash bin. Your aim should be to pack only what is necessary.
Prohibited Items
Learn from your shipping company which items are hazardous so that you don't waste your time packing them. Bleach, and a few cleaning products are some of the prohibited items, and you have to find a safe way to dispose them.
