Wrapping Materials: Examples of different wrapping materials.

There are a number of different moving materials used for wrapping items when preparing them to be shipped. Some of the most common materials are listed below to help you visualize the materials you can use to wrap your items.

Bubble-Wrap is a plastic wrap that is honeycombed with tiny air bubbles used to protect items wrapped inside from being damaged.

Packing paper is used to wrap items, but does provide as much protection as Bubble-Wrap. For this reason we recommend using Bubble-Wrap first then using packing paper as the external wrap. It should be noted that Bubble-Wrap is a little more expensive so by wrapping items in paper a few times one could save on packing cost.

Blankets can be used to transport items short distances. Large moving companies cut down on packing costs by wrapping items in blankets and transporting them in large vans.
